With people being in quarantine for six months and doing work-from-home (WFH), they now have more time to do anything they want. One thing that they get to do more is binge watch. Whether it’s watching anime, live TV series, movies, or documentaries, everyone has more free time to watch.

In my case, I’ve been binge-watching more anime series now, though I started a bit late, around July. I do it after work and watch 4-5 episodes in one sitting before going to sleep.

However, with so many on my to-watch list, it’s difficult to pick what to watch next. Thus, I found a way to know what to watch and I really recommend it to you. So what is it?

It’s Wheel of Names!

Yes, it’s that simple! Here’s what I do:

1. I create separate files for anime and live TV series respectively and list the titles on the right side of the screen. Make sure to press enter after each title.

2. The wheel will create an entry per series.

3. When I want to watch a new series, I just click the wheel and wherever it stops, that’s what I’m going to watch. To avoid repeats, I remove the series from the list, especially if it’s finished or is just one season. When I’m done watching, I use the wheel to know the next series.

I also use Wheel of Names for Books-to-Read and Skillshare-to-Watch lists.

By doing this, I have no choice but to watch the series, read the book, or catch the webinar. XD

So if you can’t decide what series to watch or what book to read next, I recommend using Wheel of Names. Let the universe decide for you on what to binge-watch next! :D

Ever since I started Wheel of Names, I have watched 3 animes: Fruits Basket, Kiss Him, Not Me, and Haikyuu (until part 1 of Season 4).

And speaking of binge-watch, I have to start with “Community” now! :D

Recent Anime Watching Due to Anime Hiatus

I have many first loves in life and one of them is anime. I love animes since I was little, though I can’t remember what was the first anime I watched (I think Princess Sarah but I’m not even sure). But what really got me addicted to it was when I watched Sailor Moon in ABC-5 (now TV-5) on one Saturday. Again, I don’t know how Sailor Moon was introduced to me, but I knew the moment I watched one episode, I would watch the next episodes. Of course, downloading wasn’t available at that time, so I look forward to every Saturday then. It was in this anime that I started having favorite characters, collected Sailor Moon merchandises, read trivia about the show and the characters and even look for fanarts.

Soon though, I wasn’t able to watch the next seasons of Sailor Moon because either ABC-5 didn’t show all of them or I can became busy with school. But after that, my addiction and love for animes started and I was watching new animes, thanks to GMA-7, who then showed various animes every day, every night (when telenovelas weren’t the in-thing yet). There was one anime per night and would be followed by other new animes such as Ghostfighter (Yu Yu Hakusho in Japansese), Daimos, Voltes V, Fushigi Yuugi, Pokemon and more. I was already in high school at that time but I made it a point to be home by six ‘o clock in the evening almost everyday to start my anime-watching routine. And this continued until end of high school.

By the time I was college, watching animes was just in passing as I concentrated in college already. And because of some unforseen circumstances, I sort of stopped watching anime---though my love for it never disappeared. Watching animes only came back when I tranferred to another college and met my boyfriend---who was also an anime fan. We watched some few animes every now and then, but not as religiously as I did before because I still concentrated more on college. The more I was not able to watch anime when I entered my media job as it took a lot more of my time the usual. In the end, I missed a lot of great animes.

My bf and I only started watching animes a bit religiously around later 2010 to early 2011 when both our jobs gave us more free time. Bit by bit, we were getting some old animes online and was catching up a bit in the new ones (but yeah, we were more on the old ones)---and I think one of the animes we started was Bleach. J That’s also the anime that got us into cosplay XD. Since then, we’ve been downloading old animes so we can catch up until we are also now watching recent animes.

So now, we are both watching various animes that we downloaded. We watch them separately though because my bf prefers to watch animes in English dub while I prefer watching the Japanese dub with subtitles because I get to feel the series more---plus I get to hear my favorite seiyuus (voice actors).

And to keep track of the animes I need to watch and those I have finished, I created a separate page here. As of now, I just finished Carnival Phantasm and Einzbern Consultation Room. I am currently watching Daily Lives of High School Boys. Also, when I feel it, I will be making some anime reviews in the future for anime lovers out there looking for good animes to watch.

I love that I am finally catching up on some old animes and being updated on some recent ones too. I kinda missed this, so I’m glad I have time now to watch these great animes. J

I’m Back! :D

After 6 months of hiatus from blogging (man, that was long), I am finally back and ready to relaunch my new blog!

My blog's new look :)

As you noticed, I changed the look of my blog, but not only that. See, in those 6 months, I “studied” a bit on blogging and how I can make Hainrihi’s Discoveries better and more informative instead of just being more personal and looking like a diary. I realized it needs to have a niche to not leave my readers and myself confused. Having a niche will also help me write blog posts and articles better and know what to write exactly. After a long time thinking and fixing, I decided to write about the things I love most: cosplay, anime/manga, figure collecting, beauty/makeup and shopping.

Of course, the theme of Hainrihi’s Discoveries is still discovery and I believe I will still discover things through the categories mentioned above. For instance, in my two years of cosplaying, I discovered and learned things I have never learned before and I want to blog about those. All mentioned are inter-connected with each other so, for sure, I won’t sidetrack from what I should really concentrate on. Maybe my other readers will disappear once they find out what my niche is because it is not much of their interest, but I don’t mind. As long as I write informative posts on what I really love, I’m good. With that, I am excited to write more posts and articles on them and I already have a list of the entries I want to blog.

But aside from Hainrihi’s Discoveries, I realized I also have another love and that is writing my thoughts and opinions on anything that comes to mind. In other words, more on the serious and in-depth writing where I can truly practice my writing skills. At the same time, it will help me write my opinion on issues and events. So, I created a separate blog for that entitled Hainrihi’s Thoughts (I could never leave out the “Hainrihi”, I’m sorry XD)

I placed more about it and and will write an introduction in the main blog itself, but be sure to check it out. It will be introduced later this week, so watch out for it. I will place some articles I have written before in print publications and will improve them to make it look and sound better.

Also, I changed my comment software to Intense Debate. Disqus suddenly didn’t work in this layout despite trying to get it back, and so all the comments before have disappeared L. I think I still have a record of those in my Disqus account. After much research and great reviews, I went with Intense Debate. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience and the sudden change.
